1. What is Admitted Students Day?Admitted Students Day (ASD as we like to call it) is our annual celebration of the
incoming class of freshmen and transfer students starting in the upcoming Summer or
Fall semester. At ASD, we aim to provide incoming students and their families with
an exciting and fun day on campus to accomplish three goals:
- Connect you with fellow new Eagles, future classmates and best friends.
- Introduce you to the faculty, staff and current students who will support you throughout
your UNT journey.
- Help you with any remaining myUNT Holds and To-Do List items before attending New
Student Orientation.
2. What will I do at Admitted Students Day?Your Admitted Students Day celebration begins by meeting with an Admissions Recruiter
at Event Check-in. There theyll explain all the activities of the day and make recommendations
for what you should accomplish based on what items remain on your UNT To-Do List.
The main event is the Level Up Challenges where admitted students will explore campus
in search of faculty, staff and students to earn ASD Coins. Whether its outsmarting
a professor or checking your financial aid status, the more you engage, the more coins
youll receive to trade for exclusive swag.
In addition to the Level Up Challenges, we will have:
- Complimentary lunch and refreshments (12-3 p.m.) made fresh by UNTs award-winning
Verde Catering.
- Level Up Lectures including a First Year Seminar, Campus Safety tips, and Student
& Alumni Panel.
- Live music and other performances featuring current UNT students.
- Green & White Award giveaways that help with your first tuition bill.
- Guided campus tours led by our current student Eagle Ambassador crew.
3. Are Admitted Students Day and New Student Orientation the same thing?
ASD is a fun but optional event; New Student Orientation is a mandatory event for
all incoming undergraduate students. In addition to getting acclimated to campus and
learning what it means to be a UNT student, youll also receive formal academic advising,
degree planning and leave with your class schedule. Attendance at ASD does not excuse
you from attending New Student Orientation. If you can only make it to campus for
one of these, choose New Student Orientation it's where you register for classes!
4. How should I prepare for Admitted Students Day?
Check the weather the morning-of and dress accordingly. We recommend comfortable walking
shoes as you navigate the fun.
Review the Holds or To-Do List items on your myUNT account and prepare for assistance!
The staff at the Enrollment Express (Level 4) will be able to help you.
5. What are ASD Coins?
ASD Coins are real, physical tokens youll receive for exploring the various Levels,
engaging with faculty, staff and current students about all the ways theyve got your
back, and in most cases, beating them at their stations game. Remember, the more
you explore, the more ASD Coins you get.
6. What do I use my ASD Coins for?
Trade your hard-earned coins for fantastic Admitted Students Day swag items. In addition
to fan favorites like Scrappy and Lucky plushes, well have some unique offerings
exclusive to this event. Commemorative class poster and event t-shirt? Check. Jibbitz
